Debra Rogosky was born on September 26, 1955, in Latrobe, PA. Growing up, she lived in Bradenville and attended Derry Area School District. After high school, she graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor of Arts degree in the Humanities. She then graduated from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity (1998) and a Doctor of Ministry (2008).
As a laywoman, Debra served as Children's Ministry Coordinator in her local church in Bradenville. She also worked in her neighborhood with the Derry UMC and the Derry Presbyterian Church in children's ministries. She also did youth work in her local church. When her spouse, Edward, served in pastoral ministry, she worked in the local churches wherever appointed in Christian education and music ministry.
Debra was ordained a deacon in 1998 and an elder in 2001. She served the Wyano UMC (1997), Wyano, Pleasant Hills UMC, and the Connellsville Community Ministries (1998-1999). She was appointed to the Beaver Falls Parish (1999-2001) and then Central IMC: Beaver Falls and Zion UMC Rochester (2001-2003). She served the Derry UMC (2003-2006). In 2006, she served the New Hope Charge, consisting of Sykesville, Pleasant Valley, and Trinity: DuBois; Penfield and Falls Creek were added to the charge in 2009. She served until 2013, when she left to serve United In Christ: Canonsburg, Fawcett, and Meadow Lands churches. In 2019, she began serving Wesley UMC in Erie, where she resided until recently.
Her gifts for ministry are hospitality, preaching, prayer, healing, teaching, and discernment. Debra has a passion to include all people in the entire life of the church. She believes that working with people makes better relationships than watching people work.
She has three adult children and two grandchildren. She enjoys cooking and baking, reading, and being her extroverted self. Her spouse, Edward, passed away in 2023.
